Terms & refunds

These terms are between you and Tide Software Inc and cover your use of DoneType. By using the app, you agree to them.
Trial and license
DoneType is free for 14 days. After that, a one-time purchase lets you keep listening; without one, you can still read, search and copy what you've already captured. A license works on up to 3 of your Macs at a time, and you can move it by deactivating a Mac in Settings. You may not resell your license or share it beyond those Macs.
A license doesn't expire, and the app doesn't need our server to keep working after it's activated. We may revoke a license that was refunded, charged back or shared in breach of these terms.
Refunds
If DoneType isn't right for you, email s@tidesoftwareinc.com within 30 days of buying and we'll refund you in full. This doesn't limit any refund rights you have by law.
Recording and consent
DoneType writes down whatever your microphone can hear, including other people. You are responsible for using it lawfully, including telling people and getting any consent required where you are.
Accuracy
Speech recognition makes mistakes, and DoneType can miss or mishear words. Don't rely on it where an error could cause harm, such as for medical, legal or safety-critical records.
Your data
Your transcripts are yours and stay on your Mac, so backing them up is up to you. Our privacy policy explains what the app does send us.
Warranty and liability
To the extent the law allows, DoneType is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for DoneType. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
