DoneType is made by Tide Software Inc. It turns speech into text on your Mac. This page lists everything that does leave your Mac, and when.

What stays on your Mac

Your microphone audio is processed on your Mac and is not sent to us or anyone else. Your transcripts are stored in a database in your user folder, and we can't see them. To delete them, delete paragraphs in the app, or remove ~/Library/Application Support/DoneType/.

Other people's voices

DoneType writes down whatever your microphone can hear, which can include other people in the room and audio playing nearby. You are responsible for telling people and for following the recording and consent laws where you are. You can pause listening at any time from the menubar.
